Vintage Napier 2 strand faux pearl bracelet gold tone

Napier started as the E.A. Bliss Co. In 1878 (documentation shows the founding date was "altered" by Napier in 1929 from 1879 to 1875 as a marketing  campaign, and 1875 was used from that point on). The business was founded by E.A. Bliss and James E Carpenter in Attleboro Falls, Massachusetts, and eventually  moved to Meriden, Connecticut. The company became Napier-Bliss Co.in 1920 when James Napier, an employee of E.A. Bliss, became president after steering the firm through hard financial times. Napier purchased a controlling interest in the company in 1922, and the name changed to the Napier Co.
